πŸ”‘ & πŸ‘‘

I have never met, nor worked with, anybody who wanted to build a new habit and succeeded without a single hiccup.

Everybody runs into unexpected complications. Everybody has good and bad days. Your work, your kids, or the health of a loved one requires your immediate time and attention. Life happens.

So, how can you increase your chances of success? A simple way is to consider how much you set out to do. To determine an effective dose.

Consider what is the minimum effective dose.

What is the littlest bit of my new habit I can do, even on my worst day, to still get the effect I am after? Don’t make grand plans for the perfect day, plan for the smallest change you can execute even on a bad day.

This is called micro-dosing.

Rather than doing a lot, aim for little bits - often - over the long haul.

And if you happen to miss a day because life happened, don’t identify with that one failure but pick up where you left off. This way, you can identify with your daily efforts.

This way, you’ll ensure the key element of being consistent.

This way, you’ll be crowned king of your new habit.
